Merry Christmas!

Hey fam!
Take this time to post pictures, holiday recipes, stories, etc. We would all love to get a post from each of you to hear about the year 2007. I will then consolidate them all together so it is easily read when entering our blog!
P.S. Where are all the recipes?!!!
Happy Holidays!

The year 2007 for the Wardell family

This year was quite an eventful one. Ty reherniated his back and I had surgery on my foot, leaving 2 screws to hold that bone in place. Trey learned to walk and Brock started preschool. There was a day when Brock poked Trey in his eye and we thought perhaps Trey was half blind, until the opthamologist confirmed there was no permanant damage (outside of trauma from being the lil bro). We stayed in our house for an entire year-making it an all-time record for us! We spent more than just a few times bent over the ole' porcelein king due to the stomach flu. But, really all in all we are blessed and only hope next year brings good tidings of comfort and joy! It is more important to measure blessings than luck! May next year bring you both! Love ya- The Wardell's

RECIPES!!!

Just a reminder that I, personally, am dying to see what recipes you've all got to share! Let's pull together all of our Eastman efforts to have the best comprehensive book of amazing recipes possible.

Here's what I'd like to see:
Easy meals (crockpot, etc.)
Yummy snacks
Healthy meals that husbands and kids will enjoy eating
Pre- and post-meal appetizers (for football games and such)
Hard recipes that really pay off in the end because they're so amazing
Great gift-giving recipes (for neighbors, holidays, etc.)

I'll definitely be including some recipes for LN2 ice cream that I wrote about below... and there are lots of other yummy ones you'll want to get from me! But here's the rule-- you gotta contribute at least ONE thing to get the book! (I hope that rule's okay w/Amber. I just made it up.) So send along your recipes! I'm pregnant and dying to try them! Mmm... food! :) haha

Love ya, fam. -Lori

Family Home Evening Idea

This is seriously the coolest thing I've done in a long time. For FHE, we made homemade ice cream. No big deal, right? Yeah. Except for the fact that you freeze it instantly with liquid nitrogen (LN2). It's amazing. I highly suggest doing this with your own families for FHE. For more info about it, visit my blog. I don't really want to write about it twice! Here's the link. http://thefrostfam.blogspot.com or for the specific post: http://thefrostfam.blogspot.com/2007/10/ln2.html

I know all of my nieces and nephews would think this is the coolest thing ever-- and I'd guess that all of us would get a kick out of it, too. It's so easy. And-- with the cool "fog" effect, it's perfect for Halloween!

Just a warning: please be very careful with this stuff! Liquid nitrogen is so cold that it actually BOILS! If you immerse your hand in it, you might have to get some treatment at the hospital. If you clutch your fist around it, the pressure increases dramatically and you will FOR SURE have to seek medical treatment. Let's just play it safe and stay out of the cold, boiling LN2 so we can have a fun Halloween.

Love you guys. Happy Halloween!

A trip down memory lane...

So, here's just a little clip I thought you fellas might enjoy. Remember the BYU vs Utah game in 2006? If you haven't seen the historic "answered prayer" from BYU's former QB John Beck and Harline himself, it's time you become educated. This clip is from the 2006 game: BYU vs.Utah . Extreme rivalry here. Take a look.

Now that's what football is all about.
